Not a member of a golf club? Don’t have a handicap? Then you’re not getting the strokes you deserve!

If you’re not a member of a golf club in New Zealand but want to know how good you are, then sign up here on Golfing New Zealand and for only $20.00 per year (includes GST), you can enter your scorecards and receive an unofficial handicap. One which will help make matches with your friends and playing partners fair and unbiased by removing the guesswork with the allotment of strokes — perhaps strengthening your argument to gain a few.

I encourage every golfer to get a handicap — preferably a NZGA one. However, if you are not a member of a golf club I suggest signing up with Golfing New Zealand. Establishing some sort of round history, even if it’s not an official handicap, will build an effective means of tracking your game and trends over time and will lend credibility to your status as a golfer.
